All applicants must provide the following, along with one of our application forms, which are available by emailing the office for one.

 

Applicants are required to provide: -

  1. Photographic ID (copy of passport and any relevant visas).  HMJ also need to see all passports and Visas when the lease is being signed.
  2. Proof of their current address (utility bill, bank statement)
  3. Copy of Matriculation Card form current university
  4. Recent landlord/letting agent reference stating tenancy dates, monthly rent due, details of any arrears, a statement on the condition of the property during or at the end of the tenancy and a statement on whether there were any breaches of the tenancy agreement; They must also contain a full address of landlord and a contact phone number; (unless you are a current HMJ Tenant)
  5. Proof of study.  letter from university confirming student status; This must be letter from ‘University Registrar Department’ (registry@st-andrews.ac.uk  tel:01334 463097) confirming that you have accepted a place of study for the  whole period of occupation.
  6. Reference from someone that has know you for at least 2 years ie.  tutor/academic person/church/professional body/previous employer – stating information re good character and ability to behave responsibly. (unless your are a current HMJ Tenant)
  7. Where appropriate for students funded/paid by an organisation or government, evidence of paid income or funding for living expenses.
  8. Guarantors are required on all properties – Again our office will issue specific information on this process.
